Consultation/Evaluation Reports:
Summary of site visits in ORSC/ODADAS cooperative agreement programs
This report is a summary of site visits to program participating
in a cooperative agreement program between the Ohio Department of
Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Services and the Ohio Rehabilitation
Services Commission. Six programs were funded throughout Ohio to
address one of two special populations: persons with disabilities
who experience a substance use disorder, or women on public assistance
who have a substance use disorder. Positive outcomes noted were increased
dialogue and planning between substance abuse treatment and vocational
rehabilitation providers, a stronger focus on inter-agency case planning,
and a recognition of the importance of features such as case management
and benefits analysis when addressing the needs of persons with coexisting
disabilities.

Butler County, Ohio, Drug Court Evaluations:
EVALUATION REPORT: BUTLER
COUNTY'S FAMILY DRUG COURT PROGRAM
"Family Drug Court Final Eval.doc", 2002" - This
document details an evaluation of a pilot "Family Drug Court" program
in Butler County, Ohio. Based on client service and billing records,
key informants, staff and client interviews, it appears that the
Butler County Family Drug Court Program positively impacts program
recipients related to substance abuse, domestic violence, parenting
needs, and compliance with court or Children's Services stipulations.

EVALUATION REPORT:Butler County's SAMI
Court Program
The Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Services Board of Butler County
received a grant to establish a drug court for severely mentally
disabled persons who also have a substance abuse problem. The program
serves adults who have multiple felony offenses and an Axis I disorder
(limited to schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bi-polar disorder
or major depression, recurrent type) and a substance use disorder.
Individuals who meet these conditions must then voluntarily agree
to participate in the program. This program is based on Interdisciplinary
dual disorder treatment (IDDT), and they received consultation and
training from Dr. Robert Drake and Dartmouth University during the
project.

Substance Abuse Program Development Consultation Report: South Dakota
Redfield Developmental Center
CSAT State Technical Assistance was provided to the South Dakota
Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse to develop viable long-term approaches
for substance use disorder prevention and treatment for residents
of Redfield Developmental Center. The residents of RDC are clients
of the state MR/DD service system, and several adult and youth residents
have substance abuse problems that preclude their return to the community
without first being capable of sobriety. The specific goal was to
seek program development options at the developmental center that
could be integrated into the present structure and current program
philosophy, rather than initiating a stand alone program to address
substance abuse needs.

Final Consultation Report to WA State DDD and DASA RRTC on Drugs
and Disability, Wright State School of Medicine, February, 2003
Based on audits of program services, officials in Washington State
Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) were interested in
better serving the needs of persons with DD relative to substance
abuse prevention and treatment. This report details the results of
several meetings and training seminars held in the state. A state-wide
plan is elaborated in this document. This work was jointly funded
by the Washington State agencies involved and the CSAT State TA funding.
