First Annual Symposium on Sexual Dysfunction October 9, 2004

DAYTON, OHIO--Wright State University School of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and The Women's Sexual Health Foundation present the 1st Annual Symposium on Sexual Dysfunction in Women and Men. The symposium, the first of its kind in the Midwest, is a forum for healthcare professionals to learn about and understand resources available to them for assessment and treatment of sexual dysfunction for their patients.

The symposium on October 9, 2004, will begin at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at 3:00 p.m. on the campus of Sinclair Community College in the David H. Ponitz Center. The symposium is being lead by the following experts in the field of sexual behavior: David Ferguson, MD, Ph.D., FACCP, clinical research consultant on pharmacological treatments of sexual dysfunction, Grand Marais, MN., speaking on Pharmacologic Treatments for Sexual Dysfunction; Jean Koehler, Ph.D., assistant clinical professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences, University of Louisville, speaking on Female Sexual Dysfunction: Diagnosis Psychological Etiologies and Treatments; and Ridwan Shabsigh, MD, associate professor of urology, Department of Urology, associate attending at New York Presbyterian Hospital and director of The New York Center for Human Sexuality, Columbia University, New York, NY, speaking on Pharmacological Therapy of Erectile Dysfunction. All presenters will speak on separate topics and then provide a panel discussion that will include questions from the attendees.

The conference is open to physicians, nurses, and psychologists and is intended to provide an educational foundation to assist providers in the treatment of sexual dysfunction. Continuing education credits are available.
