National Research in Vision and Ophthalmology brings tribute
to Dayton
Wright State University professor Dan Organisciak awarded

Dayton, OHIO--Daniel T. Organisciak, Ph.D., was presented with a
national Distinguished Service Award from the Association for Research
in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) during the organization’s annual
meeting.
ARVO is
an international organization of more than 12,000 vision research scientists
and ophthalmologists, dedicated to understanding and treating diseases
leading to the loss of vision.
Dr. Organisciak
is professor and former chair of Wright State University Boonshoft School
of Medicine’s Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
A member of the faculty since 1975, he holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry
from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He has been the recipient
of numerous awards and honors including the Wright State University Trustee’s
Award for Faculty Excellence, where he was also named University Professor.
Located
in Dayton, Ohio, the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine
is affiliated with seven major teaching hospitals in the Greater Dayton
area. In addition to providing medical education for about 400 medical
students and training for more than 400 resident physicians per year.
The Boonshoft School of Medicine is nationally recognized for its focus
on interdisciplinary teamwork and outreach with the local community.
