Tribute given to Dr. Gomez-Cambronero
in Castilla-La Mancha, the Land of Don Quixote

Julian Gomez-Cambronero, Ph.D., professor of Physiology and Biophysics at Wright State University School of Medicine, was recently awarded the prestigious Sembrador Award in his hometown of Manzanares, Spain, the land of Don Quixote. The award, symbolizing the sowing of knowledge, was presented in a grand Gala, at the Winter Courtyard of the 13th century Castle "Pilas Bonas." It acknowledged his accomplishments and highlighted his internationally recognized research into blood leukocytes.

“Dr. Gomez-Cambronero, is the first scientist from our city to receive this award that has traditionally been given to composers, choral directors, poets, playwrights, historians, painters, sculptors or doctors. It recognizes his contributions, outstanding academic merits, and leadership in inflammatory and leukemia biomedical research in the United States. He has proudly taken the name of our city far beyond Manzanares, and across the Atlantic Ocean,” stated Ms. Isabel Romera, director of Siembra magazine.
