HOOPS FOR CHARITY 1997
Introducing Hoops for Charity for 1997...Hoops for Charity is all about
basketball, fun, charity and who would have thought, attorneys and physicians.
You might think physicians and attorneys can't dribble, but for a worthy
cause they can even dunk! Some of the areas finest professionals will
be displaying these talents at Hoops for Charity, a basketball game at
UD Arena between members of the Montgomery County Medical Society and
the Dayton Bar Association on Thursday, February 13, 1997. Tip-off begins
at 7:00 PM. Tickets will be sold at the Arena for $5.00 per person and
$20.00 per family.
Why would some of the members of these two organizations agree to participate
in Hoops for Charity?
Doctors and lawyers have very strong competitive spirits;
They wish to raise money for two of their favorite charities;
They played last year and the doctors trounced the lawyers. REMATCH!
Reach Out of Montgomery County and the Volunteer Lawyers Project will
receive all of the proceeds. Both agencies utilize professionals who
volunteer their time to serve individuals who "fall through the
cracks", individuals who do not qualify for public support and are
unable to access necessary professional services. These individuals are
often referred to as the working poor.
You can support Hoops for Charity by making a financial contribution
to your favorite team and/or purchasing tickets to attend the game. If
you would like more information about Hoops for Charity or Reach Out
of Montgomery County please call Robbie Stone at 775-1122. If you would
like more information about the Volunteer Lawyers Project please call
Helenka Marculewicz at 461-3857.
