Joint Commission report Joint Commission names Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton VAMC top performers

Dayton—Two teaching hospitals affiliated with Boonshoft School of Medicine — Miami Valley Hospital and the Dayton Veterans Affairs Medical Center — were named top performers on key quality measures by The Joint Commission in October.

The Joint Commission’s Top Performer on Key Quality Measures® program recognizes accredited hospitals that attain excellence on accountability measure performance. Thirty-six hospitals in Ohio were recognized. The program is based on data reported for 2012 on evidence-based clinical processes that are shown to be the best treatments for certain conditions, including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care.
