Wright State's Boonshoft School of Medicine will present "Focusing on Healthy Aging." Each Tuesday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., the focus will be on acquiring a better understanding of the aging process and learning about exciting scientific advances in this field of study. The faculty will include an interdisciplinary group of experts from the fields of geriatric medicine, nursing, professional psychology, human factors engineering, and social work. The opening session will use a panel discussion format to explore the myths about aging, a glimpse into the physical and mental changes that occur as we age, and an introduction to the concept of successful aging. Participants on that evening will also have an exclusive, after-hours tour of the nationally curated exhibit, "Time's Body of Evidence" held at the University Art Galleries in the Creative Arts Center on Wright State's campus. The first session will be held in the Concert Hall of the Creative Arts Center. In weeks two through four, participants will meet in 171 White Hall for interactive presentations and demonstrations:
Registration is required due to limited seating. Tuition of $20 for the entire series includes parking, course materials, and light refreshments. Participants should enter campus on Center Road from Colonel Glenn Hwy and follow directional signs for parking. Seating is limited and advance registration is required.
