Children's Medical CenterDayton Children's Medical Center

Fifty percent of the 155 beds in this modern pediatric center are devoted to surgery. Jeffrey C. Pence., M.D., is the associate program director at this site. Two Wright State University residents and one resident from Grandview Hospital provide the only general pediatric surgery resident involvement at this institution.

Good SamaritanGood Samaritan Hospital and Health Center

This institution has a 560-bed capacity of which 161 beds are devoted to surgical care. Trauma and emergency surgeries, as well as biliary, gastro-intestinal and cardiothoracic surgery are important at this full-service adult acute care facility. Eugene J. Simoni, M.D., is the associate program director and John Dutro, M.D., is the assistant program director at this site. Eight to ten Wright State University surgical residents are assigned to this institution.

Kettering HospitalKettering Medical Center

This 456-bed suburban hospital has 188 acute surgical beds. It provides a broad spectrum of general surgery and a dedicated Head and Neck Service. James R. Ouellette, D.O., is the associate program director, and Gary Anderson, D.O., is the assistant program director at this site. Five Wright State University surgical residents are assigned to this institution.

Miami Valley HospitalMiami Valley Hospital

This 772-bed facility provides extensive experience in trauma care. The regional trauma center and a regional burn unit for major adult thermal burns are located here. Linda Barney, M.D., and Jonathan M. Saxe, M.D., are the associate program directors at this hospital. Fourteen Wright State University surgical residents are assigned to this site. The Department of Surgery's administrative offices are located at this institution, as well as the offices of the chair, Alex G. Little, M.D., and the program director, Paula M. Termuhlen, M.D.

Dayton VAMCDayton Veterans Affairs Medical Center

This federal facility has 475 acute care beds and, together with its other chronic and extended care components, ranks as the second largest V.A. medical center in the nation. A new acute care patient tower recently opened its doors to provide state-of-the-art physical plant for the care of veterans. Rosalyn P. Scott, M.D., is the associate program director and Dana M. Frazer, M.D., MPH, is the assistant program director at this center. Five Wright State University surgical residents are assigned to this hospital.

Wright PattWright-Patterson Medical Center

This 90-bed facility is a regional referral center for the Department of Defense Tricare Region V and is one of the premier medical training centers in the U.S. Air Force. It serves a large active duty and dependent population as well as the local community of military retirees. Maj. John S. Bruun, M.D., is the associate program director for the program at this center. Five Wright State University surgical residents are assigned to this hospital per rotation.
