Boonshoft School of Medicine had 85 graduating medical students assigned to residency programs through the National Resident Matching Program on March 16, 2006. About 52 percent of the Class of 2006 matched in a primary care field (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Medicine/Pediatrics, or Pediatrics); the balance matched in 14 other specialties ranging from Anesthesiology to Urology. About one in five chose residencies in the Greater Dayton area; 45 percent will remain in Ohio; while the rest will start their residencies in 23 other states from Florida to Washington state.
