Current Volunteer Needs

Physicians

MD's or DO's who want to make a difference in the life of the uninsured in Montgomery County can do so by volunteering once per quarter for an evening clinic from approximately 6 to 9 p.m.

Front Desk Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to operate the front desk during clinic hours of approximately 5 to 9 p.m. by greeting patients and inputting information into the computer database.

Medical Students

First and second year medical students volunteer their time in our medical clinics on Monday and Wednesday evenings assisting the nurses with triage and “shadowing” the physicians from 5 to 9 p.m.
Third and fourth year medical students volunteer their time in our physician clinics on Thursday evenings assisting the physicians with physical appointments from 5 to 9 p.m.

Nurse Practitioners

We need volunteer nurse practitioners who would like to contribute their expertise in our evening medical clinics from approximately 5 to 9 p.m.

Office Volunteers

We need volunteers who would like to help in the Administrative Office any time during office hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Pharmacists

We're looking for volunteers with a minimum of R.Ph. who would like to dispense medications to patients following the Reach Out formulary during the clinic hours, approximately 6 to 9 p.m.

Registered Nurses

Volunteer nurses with a minimum of R.N. are needed to assist physicians with the healthcare needs of our uninsured patients during clinic hours of approximately 5 to 9 p.m.

Specialists

We also need physicians who are unable to volunteer in the evening clinics but are interested in supporting the uninsured by seeing patients in their office during regular hours at a reduced or no cost to the patient.

Translators

Volunteers who would like to translate for patients speaking a foreign language by assisting them fill out their paperwork and interpreting between doctor and patient are needed from approximately 5 to 9 p.m.
