The Office
of Research Affairs hosted the 2006 Central Research Forum on Thursday,
February 9, in the Wright State Student Union. This year's CRF brought
together investigators from the Boonshoft School of Medicine, the
College of Science and Mathematics, and the College of Engineering
and Computer Science.
CRF included
two speaker sessions. Molecular and Cell Biology Update featured
the work of new faculty from four WSU departments. Capabilities
in Medical Information Processing highlighted potential research
collaborations with four faculty from the Department of Computer
Science and Engineering. (See Program
for details) Special thanks go to Madhavi Kadakia, Ph.D., for organizing
the speaker sessions.
"The
talks were truly exciting and stimulating and filled with magnificent
data," says Robert E.W. Fyffe, Ph.D., associate dean for research
affairs. "The prospects for developing these projects and for
cross-fertilization of the areas represented bodes well for the
research enterprise at Wright State."
New
at this year's CRF was a poster competition sponsored by the Wright
State chapter of Sigma Xi,
the Scientific Research Society. To learn more about the poster
winners, follow this link or click the photo at left. Thanks
go to the faculty who judged the competition: Steven Berberich,
Ph.D.; James McDougal, Ph.D.; and Mark Rich, M.D., Ph.D. See

list, including presenters and coauthors.
