From Research to Practice: The Lessons of Flight

Wright State University celebrates the Wright Brothers' Centennial of Flight on Friday, February 14, with a joint research symposium sponsored by the Greater Dayton Area Nursing Research Symposium, the Center for Healthy Communities, and the School of Medicine. "From Research to Practice: The Lessons of Flight" will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on February 14 in the Wright State Student Union.

The joint symposium features sessions about the Wright Brothers, the contributions of aerospace medicine to public health, and the latest in regional nursing research.

Bullet "Why Wilbur and Orville? The Achievement of the Wright Brothers" (Keynote Address), by Tom D. Crouch, Ph.D., Senior Curator, National Air and Space Museum, Smithsonian Institution.

Bullet "The Wright Brothers: A Prototype for Crew Resource Management" (Concurrent Session), by Rick Scheuring, D.O., Aerospace Medicine Program, Wright State University School of Medicine.

Bullet "Historic Medical Lessons of the First 10 Gemini Flights" (Concurrent Session), by Matthew Dunsdorf, M.D., and Stanley Mohler, M.D, Aerospace Medicine Program, Wright State University School of Medicine.

Bullet "Partners in Healthy Living: How NASA's Biomedical Research Benefits You" (Concurrent Session), by Mary Anne Frey, Ph.D., Aerospace Medicine Program, Wright State University School of Medicine.

Bullet "The Public Impact of Aerospace Medicine" (Plenary Address), by Melchor J. Antuñano, M.D., M.S., Director, Civil Aerospace Medical Institute, Federal Aviation Administration.

The registration fee is $65 and includes continuing education, conference syllabus, lunch, refreshments, and parking. The registration deadline is January 31, 2003.
