Scholarly Activity
Our department's mission is "to teach and study mental health and mental
illness." This academic focus guides all of our energies. Teaching is
enhanced in an atmosphere of intellectual curiosity, ceaseless investigation
and active publication. Faculty and residents work together on research
projects, publications and innovative educational ventures.
Residents
Every resident must complete an Academic Project before graduating.
This project may be:
- a research investigation,
- a paper,
- a Grand Rounds presentation,
- a presentation at a national meeting, or
- a novel creation negotiated with a faculty
advisor.
Faculty routinely recruit residents to coauthor papers and book chapters.
Wright State University faculty are widely published, presenting their
findings in widely used textbooks. Many have been published within the
past two years and most are in second or later editions, reflecting their
value in their respective fields. Click here to

Wright State University professors and trainees produce hundreds of
papers and book chapters each year. You may wish to take a look at our most
recent faculty and resident publications.
The discovery of new knowledge is the lifeblood of an active academic
enterprise. Visit our research page to view
