L. David Mirkin, M.D.
Acting Chair

The Department of Pathology embraces the three goals of Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine: to provide quality education for medical students, to develop scholarly activities and achievements, and to provide leadership in service to the community.

Regional Postmortem Examination Service

The Department of Pathology offers a postmortem examination service that makes autopsy available to the next of kin for persons who die of apparently natural causes outside of a hospital or in hospital emergency rooms. It does not provide a medical-legal investigation of death, which can only be performed by a coroner's office, as mandated by Ohio law. For information on the Regional Postmortem Examination Service, view our online brochure (PDF file). To contact a representative, call (937) 775-2625, Monday through Friday, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., or (937) 775-2304 on evenings and weekends.
