Faculty Profiles


Dr. CrosbyLynn A. Crosby is a professor with Wright State University and Director of Shoulder Surgery at Miami Valley Hospital. In addition to his clinical practice he has published over 50 articles, 7 books, 23 abstracts, and is the editor of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Monographs on Total Shoulder Replacement. A dedicated researcher with current research that is centered around fatty degeneration of rotator cuff muscle. A 1983 graduate of Ohio State University, Dr. Crosby served his general surgery rotation at Creighton University and his orthopaedic residency at Creighton-Nebraska Health Foundation, Nebraska. He served in the US Army at the rank of Major and received the Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service in the Desert Storm conflict. He completed a Mid-American Orthopaedic Association Traveling Fellowship 1990-91 and a Clinical Orthopaedic Society Traveling Fellowship in Great Britain in 1995-96. He is a member of a number of Orthopaedic Societies including Academic Orthopaedic Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association, Orthopaedic Research Society, and serves on the Board of the Mid-American Orthopaedic Society. He was inducted into the American Orthopaedic Association and is a member of the Landane Honorary Research Society at Ohio State University School of Medicine and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Dr. KrishnamurthyAnil B. Krishnamurthy is an assistant professor with Wright State University. He graduated from medical school, as well received his orthopaedic training at Kasturba Medical College in Manipal, India and in Great Britain. Dr. Krishnamurthy is the Director of Orthopaedic training at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center. His presentations, including state and national, total 10.

Fellowships: August 1993 - July 1994: Fellow in Adult Reconstruction, University of Chicago Hospitals; and August 1994 - July 1995: Fellow in Adult Reconstruction, Central Dupage Hospital and Rush-Presbyterian-St Luke's Medical Center, Chicago.

Dr. LaughlinRichard T. Laughlin is Chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation, and Associate Professor with Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and has completed a Fellowship in Foot and Ankle Infection. Dr. Laughlin graduated in 1988 from Medical School at Texas Tech University. He completed residency at Southern Illinois University and completed a Fellowship in Foot/Ankle at University of Texas Medical Branch. He is an active member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, and the American College of Surgeons. He serves on the Trauma Committee at Miami Valley Hospital, directs the Dayton Orthopaedic Society and is the Director of Medical Student Education.

Dr. LawlessMatthew W. Lawless is an Assistant Professor with Wright State University. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has received additional fellowship training in sports medicine. He focuses on knee problems and practices in adult reconstruction and general orthopaedics.

Dr. PraysonMichael J. Prayson is Associate Professor and Director of Orthopaedic Undergraduate Education in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He completed a fellowship in orthopaedic trauma and is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He also is a member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association. Dr. Prayson instructs and supervises residents on the Trauma Rotation.

Active Participating Voluntary Faculty

Additionally, numerous clinical faculty help with teaching and many of these have fellowship training in hand, total joint, sports medicine, foot and ankle and spinal disorders.

The faculty have diverse backgrounds and outside interests, including many recreational activities. A wide variety of outdoor attractions are close to Dayton, and the faculty include multiple coaches and referees of various activities. Excellent golf courses, boating, sailing, hunting and skiing are nearby.
