Med-Peds Practice Sites
As residents, we rotate through four different sites
in addition to our clinic site, Elizabeth Place.
Elizabeth Place
University Medicine/Pediatrics is a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, community-based, ambulatory clinic staffed by three Internal Medicine/Pediatrics trained physicians in addition to three Internal Medicine trained physicians.
During the first five months of residency, an intern has continuity clinic on one half day per week. After the first five months of residency, all residents have continuity clinic on two half days per week. Each clinic is a combined internal medicine and pediatrics clinic. In addition, residents have ambulatory blocks which are based out of Elizabeth Place.

Miami Valley Hospital
Miami Valley Hospital is one of the nation's 100 largest hospitals and is prominently recognized as the region's leading health care resource. MVH is an 827-bed tertiary care hospital supporting the only regional Level I trauma center. The hospital is the site of the region's largest Emergency Department, which sees more than 100,000 patients each year. The Department of Internal Medicine is located here.

Children's Medical Center
Children's Medical Center is a 155-bed regional referral center drawing patients from a 20-county area that includes southwestern Ohio, eastern Indiana and northern Kentucky. It includes 19 PICU and 31 Level III NICU beds staffed by a complete spectrum of pediatric subspecialists and intensivists. CMC's staff of over 175 physicians and residents includes primary care pediatricians as well as subspecialists in over 30 areas of pediatric medicine. Working as a team with the medical staff are more than 1,300 employees and volunteers who share a commitment to quality care no matter what their specific titles or duties. The Department of Pediatrics is located here.

USAF Medical Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base
The Wright-Patterson Medical Center, operated by the 74th Medical Group, is a multi-specialty military treatment facility. As one of four Air Force medical centers, it serves more than 54,000 beneficiaries within a 40-mile radius of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, and nearly 700,000 in DOD's seven-state region. Outpatient pediatric operations are located in a three-story building physically separate from the hospital and completely dedicated to children's health care. Physician training is conducted in conjunction with Wright State University School of Medicine. More than 230 resident physicians, including 100 military physicians, are trained annually. In addition, some 600 medical students from the Air Force Health Professions Scholarship program, the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, and WSU receive clinical training each year here.

Dayton Veterans Affairs Medical Center
The VA Medical Center provides a continuum of care which encompasses all levels of acute, subacute, nursing home and domiciliary care. A very active ambulatory care program is provided through a variety of clinics including a primary care program designed to assure that we offer an atmosphere of friendly, personal and individualized patient care. A complete array of diagnostic, rehabilitative and therapeutic programs and services are offered using state of the art technology to treat the total patient and assure the veteran continuity of care. The Dayton VAMC is the third oldest VA Medical Center in the country, having accepted its first patient in 1867. The Medical Center sits on a 382-acre tract of land (including a national cemetery).
