Welcome
The Global Health Systems Program supports education and research of health systems by examining good practices of developed countries.
Mission
The mission of the Global Health Systems Program is to be a progressive program to help students and faculty to understand the successes and challenges that are faced in health care delivery throughout the world as well as to provide international learning experiences. Recognizing that health care systems in the future will have critical characteristics that might be common around the globe, this program will seek to understand the process of health care delivery by focusing on developed countries, to learn from others how to improve our own systems and to help other countries improve their health care systems. The program will promote understanding of the globalization of health care.
Course Offering
A Global Health Systems course (CMH 772) is offered as an elective in the Master of Public Health Program. This course introduces the principles of structures and mechanisms of global health systems focused on developed countries. Interdisciplinary studies will be made of the achievements and the challenges in global health systems by cross-cutting the problems, e.g. global burden of diseases, process of health system development. It will explore the possible approaches to improving health systems at the national and global levels from interrelated perspectives, e.g. evidence based medicine, cost-effectiveness, quality of care, equity, human rights.
