Good Samaritan Hospital

Good Samaritant HospitalGood Samaritan Hospital (GSH) is a non-profit medical center which primarily serves the north and west areas of Dayton, Ohio. It has one of the busiest medical/surgical volumes of the Dayton area hospitals. The hospital also serves as a tertiary referral center for rural areas to the north and west. The hospital was established by the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati in 1932, and today it holds the strong mission of its founders to provide quality care to all patients regardless of their ability to pay.

The 26-suite Family Birthing Center is a family-oriented center for obstetrical care. It was cited by the state of Ohio as a model state-of-the-art birthing center when it opened in 1986. In this unique, homelike setting, mothers and their families can be together for the birth of their children.

Good Samaritan Hospital opened Samaritan North Health Center in January 1995, a $35 million ambulatory medicine center which serves the needs of the population of the North Dayton area. The complex on North Main Street near I-70 provides a medical office building in addition to full lab and radiology services plus a state-of-the-art ambulatory oncology unit, sports medicine complex and physical therapy unit. Both the main campus and Samaritan North are undergoing major building projects.
