Diplomas
Revised July 1996
Residency
Upon completion of a program, the resident will receive a
diploma of completion, considered an official document, as distinct
from a legal one. In both sponsored and affiliated programs,
and where participating and cooperating hospitals and the SOM
chair think it appropriate, residents may request and receive
a diploma from the individual hospital. If evidence of completion
of an internship is needed, the appropriate hospital will prepare
documentation in the form of a letter.
Upon recommendation of the program director, residents who
have successfully served a portion of a residency program shall
receive a residency diploma for the served training period. This
will confirm participation in an accredited residency program.
Fellowship
Upon completion of a fellowship program, the fellow will
receive a diploma, signed by the dean of School of Medicine and
the program director.
