Since the inception of this training program, its structure has placed great reliance on the willingness of clinical faculty within the Department of Emergency Medicine to actively teach the emergency medicine residents. For more than 25 years, they and many others have been actively dedicated to fulfilling this expectation.

In 1995, we initiated a resident polling for the Top Ten Clinical Faculty Educators in Emergency Medicine. The designation has received positive comments. We are, therefore, continuing for the 12th year to recognize those who have worked hard to instruct our residents, while caring for an ever increasing number of patients.

In addition, we have annually recognized the contributions of a single clinical faculty member through the James W. Agna, M.D. Award for Clinical Excellence at the resident’s graduation ceremony. We look forward to making this announcement in the near future.

Congratulations to this fine group of individuals to whom we are greatly indebted - the Top Ten Clinical Educators in the Department of Emergency Medicine!
