These short stories depict the complexities and challenges faced by individuals
with coexisting disabilities. These stories are true and have been told
to the RRTC staff in an effort to educate the larger community about
substance abuse as experienced by persons with disabilities. They hope
that their stories will eventually lead to increased awareness and acceptance
of coexisting disabilities by those working in areas related to substance
abuse treatment and rehabilitation as clinicians, educators, trainers,
researchers or policy developers.
