Kate Cauley, PhD, Director of the Center for Healthy Communities, welcomed everyone.

The 4th Annual Walk!Downtown Dayton Kick-off was held on a beautiful Wednesday, May 22, 2009. Many enthusiastic walkers, including Heater from the Dayton Dragon's, gathered at Riverscape to kick off the walking season.

Dayton Mayor Rhine L. McLin once again attended the Kickoff this year. The mayor is an avid walker and is often seen walking downtown.

Walkers warmed up and got their blood pumping with Doug Jones of STUDIO ZUMBA Fitness.

There were also teams of walkers from downtown businesses participating, including CareSource, Eastway Corporation, Sebaly Shillito & Dyer, RTA and Sinclair Community College.

The event included free information on exercise and fitness,
local bicycle trails, recreation programs and more.
The Mayor also took advantage of the free blood pressure checks provided by Premier Community Health!

off for a short walk around the Great Miami River.

Kick-off walkers were entered into a raffle for prizes courtesy of the Center for Healthy Communities, McGohan-Brabender, Five Rivers Outdoors, Boston Stoker and the Club 88.
