The HealthLink Information Exchange™ (HIEx™) was developed in response to the community's need to identify health uninsured and assist them in accessing available public sector services. HIEx™, available through a virtual private network on the Internet, houses patient records at the individual and household level, includes case management and disease management functions, creates public health applications electronically, and stores eligibility documentation as a part of the patient record. HIEx™ provides a central data repository for shared patient records among HIEx™ member organizations and is interoperable with other electronic health information systems in the region.
