A Timeless Gift...
Thank you for considering the gift of your remains to the
Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine for educational
and scientific purposes. Your gift is truly meaningful and an act of
unselfish concern for all who succeed you in life. Your selfless gesture
will have an impact which goes far beyond the initial contribution to
the School of Medicine. The immediate benefits are obvious. Students
and faculty of the Boonshoft School of Medicine will be able to observe
and document, firsthand, the detailed structure of the human form. Students
will realize immediately the intricacies and variations in that form.
Even more significantly, your contribution will permit future physicians
as well as practicing physicians to gain a level of knowledge and understanding
which may prolong or make more pleasant someone's life.
Yours is a gift which will abide forever as nurses, physicians,
and scientists who learn from you train others in the future. In so many
ways, you will contribute significantly to medical education and research
and serve humankind even in death. Medical and scientific personnel who
train here will carry their knowledge to all parts of the world; your
altruism will play a significant role in their ability to do this. Follow
the links to the left to learn more.
Autopsies are not performed under the aegis of The Anatomical Gift Program.
The Boonshoft School of Medicine Department
of Pathology offers a Regional Postmortem Examination Service that
makes autopsies of persons who die of apparently natural causes outside
of a hospital or in a hospital emergency room available to family members.
