Health Promotion
Kay Parent, Program Director of Health Promotion/Disease Prevention, works with state and local organizations developing community health assessments, policy, health education and prevention programs, and curricula/training materials. Center of Healthy Communities supports and coordinates numerous local and state level collaborative projects focused on basic elements of a healthy lifestyle, including physical activity and good nutrition.

The Healthy Dayton Coalition promotes healthier lifestyles through improved nutrition and increased physical activity in businesses, schools and in the general community.

Ohio Action for Healthy Kids
Zone 9

Ohio Action for Healthy Kids is a coalition of people interested in healthy schools in the 8 county areas surrounding the Miami Valley. Assistance is available to help schools develop school wellness councils and implement healthy school policies.

Action for Healthy Kids presented a workshop for physical educators in Zone 9 on Oct. 23, 2006. Click here to read more about it and access resources.
