ABCR
(Advisory Board for Community Research)

The purpose of the Advisory Board for Community Research (ABCR), sponsored by the Center for Healthy Communities, is to give guidance and support to researchers interested in community-based research in Montgomery County. The ABCR consists of academics, community agency personnel, and community members and wishes to help researchers to design studies that are both acceptable and beneficial to the citizens who graciously agree to participate in research purported to benefit their community. The ABCR is not an institutional review board, and its input cannot substitute for required IRB approval. An ABCR endorsement of a community-based participatory research design, however, may be useful when submitting a study to the IRB.

Click here for guidelines developed for researchers who wish to receive feedback from the ABCR. Please read the instructions carefully. For more information contact Carla Clasen at carla.clasen@wright.edu or 937-258-5543.
